The Tattoo Artist

This episode of my artist series photo documentaries is on Nadine Awayes, resident artist at Nativo Tattoo Tribe in Heidelberg. Even though this series is yet to be fully completed, I decided to publish the results for a simple reason:

A lot of tattoo artists and parlours are heavily struggling due to the lockdowns caused by the pandemic. Not being able to work, most of them are facing serious economical problems. This is about creating awareness for their branch of industry.

Being a regular customer myself, I always loved the splendid atmosphere that tattoo parlours provide, where the flamboyance and creativity around the place go hand in hand with occasional torment and agony. I imagine that of the greatest things about working as a tattoo artist, however, has to be the freedom that this job provides you with: with just a bit of english language skills you can pack your colours and needles and basically go working anywhere - the world is yours!
